Sustainability Aspects

How the relevant aspects of sustainability are defined depends essentially on the general conditions and priorities of each individual company. Sustainability involves the optimum interaction of the following aspects:

  • Economic success through strategic long-term optimisation of business activities and development of innovative services and products
  • Corporate environmental management (energy, water, waste, mobility, legal certainty)
  • The interests of staff (security of employment, promotion of workplace health and safety, initial and continuing education and training, supporting innovation, systems for staff suggestions, human resources development with diversity and opportunities, family-friendly policies, flexible working time models)
  • Responsibility for products and consumer protection
  • Working conditions and environmental protection in suppliers’ firms
  • Fulfilment of social/ethical responsibility (contributing to local value-creation, anti-corruption measures, ethical investments, support for civic activities, conforming to human rights, etc.)
